Reflections and Intentions

As another year comes to a close, like many others I spend a great deal of time reflecting on what has passed and thinking about the year to come, the last few days, my brain has been on overdrive and I’ve been going through my usual annual process of feeling gloomy, excited, scared but most of all a very weird kind of “mourning period” that another year has ended… it is a very strange feeling, but I know we all have many exiting opportunities to make our dreams a reality in 2010…its going to be an amazing year I can feel it! As you prepare your intentions for 2010, these are some of the questions/statements I pose to myself to help realize what I have accomplished, what I could of done better, what I didn’t get round to doing and start to prepare what I want 2010 to be for me. Here are a few to try yourself…..”What did I enjoy/love about 2009”, “What did I accomplish professionally and personally”, “What challenges did I face”, “how have these changed me/the way I see the world”, “what did I not get to this year that I want to do in 2010”, “what are my main priorities/areas of focus for 2010” “What behaviours, situations etc do I need to change or improve to accomplish these”. And finally how will I celebrate the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010 with inspiration, focus and faith.

Wishing you all a fabulous New Year whatever you will be doing and remember no matter what this year has been to you, celebrating life, friends and family is the most important. :-)

Christmas Wishes to you all

Just wanted to pop by before my scrambled egg, smoked salmon and champagne to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I love all the ornaments i received through the swap and have them hanging on my tree where the presents are still wrapped up underneath. I also received an extra ornament from lovely Dana - a gorgeous paper art tree so thanks Dana! The rest of my tree is dressed with a few gold baubles, dried lemon pieces and ornaments and I have really enjoyed sitting by it every night with all the fairy lights on, getting all cosy and Christmassy. My ornament was a polymore clay experiment with a poinsettia painted on it. :-)

Have a wonderful weekend all, I'm away from my family this year and miss them sooo much so whether you are with your loved ones or away, have a lovely day being good to yourself. Hope you got all you desired this Christmas. xx

Happy Winter Solstice & my Etsy Sale!

I would like to wish you all a happy Winter Solstice! As we mark the official start of the winter, the shortest day of the year and the mark of rebirth, I wanted to share this book with you from Barbara Biziou - "The Joy of Ritual". I took an evening workshop with her to mark the ritual of reflecting on 2008 and to set intentions for 2009...Barbara gives you the tools to make simple choices that lead to big changes. I have to say she was a fabulous inspiration to help me follow my dreams. So as we all approach 2010 and think about what our intentions are for the coming year, take a little time to think through the rituals we may have forgotten, get yourself prepared to say goodbye to 2009 and set your intentions for 2010.

So celebrate the ritual of Winter Solstice - Be festive, spend time with loved ones, feast, sing, dance and light fire in the hearth!

To also mark this solstice, I have started my Etsy store sale....all Christmas/Holiday cards, notes etc. All are 1/2 price!

My Giveaway!

Been feeling under the weather this week so am sooo behind on many things... but when I saw my favourite painting listed at the top of Kelly Raes Blog as a giveaway, I was over the moon, a great way to lift the spirits. I offered Kelly Rae's readers a giveaway of one of my "Tree of Inspiration" prints and also a pack of "Compassion" notecards... so congratulations to Abigail who won.

Hoping to feel 100% by Saturday as I have a big weekend ahead of me, solo show art opening at the bank on Saturday then craft fair at the Monroe Art Centre in Hoboken on Sunday! Excited to get more art out there into the world and to meet some jolly nice people too.

I also have to say thank you to my lovely friend Diane who lent me her meditation cds, im addicted and enlightened. :-)
