At Last!

I've started creating something! Okay so not perfect or great yet, but I just know im going in the right direction. I've started 4 different paintings and experimented with some of the great new and interesting collage techniques that Kelly Rae Roberts outlines in her book. Thanks Kelly, such an inspiration reading your blog. I'm raring to go but wont be able to revisit until after the weekend.... but...looking forward to our trip to Sag Harbor on Saturday so ill take some photos if the weather is nice for inspiration!

Still Procrastinating!

I've been thinking thinking thinking far too much and now i'm ready to bite the bullet and do something! No more excuses of too much work, not enough time yadda yadda yadda! Going to take a leaf out of CreativeThursdays Book!.... take it slow, pick one day and just get off my butt and create something!

Lavender Morning

I woke up this morning and gazed at my lavender painting on the wall at the foot of my bed as i do most mornings...

Lots of things I love about lavender, the colour, smell, calming nature. This lavender painting is 4 ft x 5ft - one of my early works I created when I first moved to the US. Based on a photo I took at a lavender farm in Australia. It rained that day and the intoxicating aroma was even more intense than normal.

The purple flowers on the wispy green stems as if someone has trodden on them... painting this helped me stay calm in this hectic new life id launched myself into. Four years after the painting was finished I still enjoy waking up to this, (in my current hectic life!) taking in the colours and textures ready to face the day ahead. Sometimes I even think i can still smell the lavender......

It all starts here!

After years of thinking, dreaming and dabbling, i've finally made the conscious decision to get off my bottie and get back into painting and creating...Of course i have dreams of throwing myself into this full time, but not realistic right now. I do feel like I'm going to burst, I have so many ideas, thoughts and want to just submerge myself into it all, soak it up!

I've actually done something with my website (2 years sitting there gathering cosmic dust!), so have given myself until September to really get a load of content up there.
